How to use the transcript, scripts and quick timeline in DaVinci

Updated

Short answer

In Transcript, the line playing in DaVinci is highlighted and clicking a line moves the playhead there. Pick lines to mark a passage on your timeline or to build a quick timeline, with the passages in any order you like. In Script, ask for a script and bring its timeline, cut from yours.

Available on Agency Closed beta

Before you start

Step by step

  1. Step 1: Open the transcript

Frequently asked questions

Can I fix the transcript in the plugin?

Lines are fixed in Captions, in the plugin, or in the app's Transcript. The fix counts for both.

Does renaming a speaker in the plugin change the app?

Yes. Renaming under People saves the name in the FilmScribe file, and it shows in the app and in the notes of the plugin's markers.

Is the quick timeline saved in the app?

No. The quick timeline lives in your DaVinci project and in the plugin's list on this computer, where you can remake or remove it.

Does a script asked for in the plugin show in the app?

Yes. It is the same script as on the app's Scripts page, and a script asked for in the app also shows in the plugin.
