FilmScribe is an online AI tool for transcription, clips and captions, for video and audio. You upload a file or paste a YouTube link, and we deliver the timestamped transcript with speakers, chapters, vertical clips with animated captions, the SRT and, on Studio and Agency, the timeline for Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut Pro.

We accept video in MP4, MOV, AVI and MKV, audio in MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, OGA and OPUS, and WEBM audio or video, with no conversion first. You can also paste a YouTube link, including a live stream once its recording is available. Recordings can be any length.

Minutes, in most cases, and the time grows with the length of the recording. If you pick only the stretch that matters before processing, such as the sermon without the worship set, only that stretch is processed and counts toward your plan's hours.

90+ languages, including English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, Italian, German and Japanese. We detect the language on our own, so you don't pick it when uploading. Chapters, emotions, hooks and clips work in all of them. On Studio and Agency, we also translate subtitles and content into 9 languages.

Yes. The most common uses are sermon clips and chapters for church media, podcast clips for Reels, Shorts and TikTok, wedding logging and transcripts of interviews, classes and meetings. When you upload, you pick the content type, and we tune chapters, moments and emotions to what was recorded.

Yes. Your files are stored with encryption and accessible only through your account. We don't sell your data or use it for advertising: only the providers needed to run the service process it, as the privacy policy describes. You can delete your files at any time. With an active subscription, a file that goes 45 days without being opened is automatically removed (7 days if it failed or was never processed); without an active subscription, 15 days. We always send an email heads-up beforehand. The exception is an account that only used the free trial: if the trial ends without a subscription, its files are removed 5 days after signup, with no heads-up. Opening the file again resets the clock.

With the upload button, after you sign in: select the audio or video file or paste a YouTube link, pick the content type and, if you want, only the stretch that matters. When the upload finishes, transcription and analysis start on their own.

It's a synopsis we write with the main content of your recording. It gives you the big picture before you dive into the transcript details and helps you decide where to start logging or clipping.

We read every line and mark the emotions in it, such as love, hope, gratitude, surprise or sadness, with an intensity from subtle to very strong. You can then filter by emotion and sort by the most intense lines to find the moments with the most impact. It's on every plan.

Use the search bar on the transcript page. We show every occurrence of the word or phrase with its exact time, so you go straight to the moment. It's the fastest way to find a line in a long recording without listening to it all again.

With the export button on the transcript page. The SRT carries timed subtitles and works in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and on YouTube; TXT and PDF carry the text. On Studio and Agency, the timeline also comes out as .fcpxml for Final Cut Pro and as .xml for Premiere and DaVinci.

Yes, on Studio and Agency. We translate subtitles and content into 9 languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Korean and Simplified Chinese. Every block keeps the original timing. Download the translated SRT or, for video, pick the translated captions on the clip.

It's the overview of emotions across the whole recording: which ones show up most, the lines with the most impact and a filter by emotion. It shows you the tone of the recording before you pick lines for a script or for clips.

Use hooks as the starting point of a script or a clip. Each hook has an impact score from 0 to 100, its type, a reason to use it and the best moments with timestamps, so you can listen right away. Hooks are on Studio and Agency.

Select the hooks you want and ask for a script at the length you need, from 3 to 120 minutes. We build the scenes from the right lines, and you edit, reorder and export, including as a timeline for your editor. Scripts are on Studio and Agency.
