Because every word in the transcript has its own timestamp, captions track the speaker with no lag: each word lights up the moment it is said. There are 235 styles, from clean broadcast captions that are easy to read to animated ones that pop, change color and fill in like karaoke. Pick a style and change anything you want. For real emphasis, create a word style and click the words that should stand out in the same line: one in yellow, one boxed, one bigger. Font, position, capitals and punctuation
Good captions read at a glance, on a phone, with the sound off. So every detail is adjustable. Choose from 54 fonts, drag the captions where they won't cover a face or the app buttons, and decide where each line breaks, since two short lines are easier to follow than one long one. Capitalize the first letter of every word, strip punctuation for a cleaner look, and hide sound tags from the transcript, like laughter, music and applause. On a sermon with a pad playing underneath, the [music] tag stays out of the captions. On Studio and Agency, upload your brand font as TTF or OTF.

Generate an SRT file, FCPXML or translated captions
Not every caption needs to be burned in. An SRT file is plain text with a number for each caption, its in and out time in the 00:00:01,120 --> 00:00:03,480 format and the words shown on screen. To upload to YouTube or open in your editor, download an SRT file with TV, Netflix and YouTube presets and pick your project's frame rate. For Final Cut, captions also export as FCPXML. SRT works for any upload, audio included. If your audience speaks another language, Studio and Agency burn translated captions into the clip itself, in 9 languages. And when you fix a word in the transcript, the fix flows into the captions.

What languages do auto captions support?
90+ languages, including English, Spanish and Portuguese. Captions come out in the language that was spoken, with a timestamp on every word. If your audience speaks something else, Studio and Agency burn translated captions into the clip in 9 languages, and the translation also exports as SRT for your editor.
What are burned-in captions?
Captions written into the video image, as part of the frame, so they show on any player or platform without the viewer turning anything on. That is what FilmScribe clips come out with: the style, animation and position you pick are baked into the MP4. For captions viewers can switch on and off, download the SRT.
Do the captions highlight each word as it is spoken?
Yes, with an animated style such as karaoke or viral: each word lights up as it is spoken, because every word carries its own timestamp. To push it further, create a word style and click the exact words you want to stand out, with a different color, a box or a bigger size.
What formats can I download captions in?
Three: burned into the clip MP4, as an SRT file and as FCPXML for Final Cut Pro. SRT exports come with TV, Netflix and YouTube presets, and you choose your project's frame rate. SRT works even if you upload audio only, since it doesn't depend on the picture. Burned-in captions need video.
Do animated captions work in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve?
The animation is burned into the clip MP4 that we render. For Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro, you bring the SRT file (or FCPXML in Final Cut), with the text and timing of every caption but no animation. If you want the animated look ready to go, download the captioned clip and drop the video into your project.
Can I burn captions into the video?
Yes. Captions are burned into the clip MP4 in whatever format you export: original, 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 or 4:5. Paid plans export without a watermark. Burned-in captions need a video upload; with audio, you get the SRT file.
Can I move and resize the captions?

Can I use my church's or brand's font?
