Montserrat
Best for: Viral clips, podcasts and talking headsA geometric sans that stays sharp from regular to Black weight. Our Hormozi, Power Word and Podcast Bold styles are built on it.
A caption font has one job: be read in under a second on a small screen. The FilmScribe team picked the ten fonts we reach for most out of the 54 in FilmScribe, from heavy sans serifs for viral clips to condensed and handwritten options. Each one is ready to use, with nothing to install, and you can switch fonts on any style in the clip editor.
Each font was tested in real caption styles on vertical clips.
A geometric sans that stays sharp from regular to Black weight. Our Hormozi, Power Word and Podcast Bold styles are built on it.
Tall and condensed, so big words still fit across the screen. It powers Hormozi 2.0, One Word and the classic Meme style.
An all-caps condensed display font with even strokes. It reads well at large sizes and gives captions a sleek, poster-like look.
Round, friendly letters that stay legible in motion. Sweep, Box Lift and Bounce all use it at heavy weight.
A rounded cartoon display font that takes a very thick outline well. It is the font behind Beast Mode, Beast Glow and Cartoon.
A condensed sans with a newsy feel that fits more letters per line. Think uses it in italic caps, white on top and yellow below.
A wide, very heavy sans that holds its shape inside boxes and labels. Two Words, Contrast Block and 3D Block use it.
Built for screens, with open shapes that read at small sizes. Clean, Ali and Transcript use it for calm, readable captions.
A slightly squared sans that feels at home in the feed. TikTok Glide and White Card both use it.
Looks like felt pen on paper, so captions feel handwritten. Marker Note and Doodle use it for a casual, personal touch.

For most short-form video, a heavy sans serif like Montserrat or Poppins: clear letters, enough weight for an outline and good width for three words per line. For a calmer look, Inter. For bold hooks, Anton.
We can't speak for the apps' own fonts. For captions that look native to the feed, Kanit (used in White Card and TikTok Glide) and Inter are good choices in FilmScribe.
Our Hormozi style uses Montserrat Black and Hormozi 2.0 uses Anton. Our MrBeast style captions, Beast Mode and Beast Glow, use Luckiest Guy. All three fonts are included.
Yes, on Studio and Agency. Upload your brand font as TTF or OTF and it appears next to the 54 built-in fonts. On Pro, you choose from the built-in fonts.
All caps reads fast in short bursts, which is why viral styles use it. For longer sentences, mixed case is easier to read. Every style lets you turn caps on or off, or capitalize each word.
Upload a video or paste a YouTube link. We transcribe it, you pick a style and switch the font in one click.
