How to combine WhatsApp voice notes into one file
WhatsApp voice notes come as .opus or .ogg files. To merge several, save each one first: on your phone, use Share and save it to the device or to Drive; on WhatsApp Web or the desktop app, open the message menu and choose Download. Then pick them all at once on this page.
The list keeps the order in which you picked the files. Check names or lengths and drag to fix the order. For a conversation, a gap of 0.5 to 1 second between notes sounds natural. The result comes out as MP3, which opens on any phone, or as WAV if you plan to edit it.
- WhatsApp voice notes: .opus or .ogg, mono.
- A message recorded in several parts becomes one file, in order.
- The final MP3 can be sent back on WhatsApp or any other app.
No gap, a gap or a crossfade: which one to use?
With no gap, each file starts exactly where the previous one ends. That is right for parts of the same recording that got split, such as a service recorded in two files or a lecture your phone cut in the middle.
A gap adds silence between files, from 0 to 5 seconds. It separates testimonials, different messages or tracks from a rehearsal. A crossfade fades one file out while the next fades in, using an equal-power curve so the volume does not dip in the middle. It works well for music and background tracks. The crossfade never runs longer than half of the shorter file in each pair, so a short clip does not vanish inside the transition.
| What you are joining | Between files | Suggested length |
|---|---|---|
| Parts of one recording | No gap | None |
| WhatsApp voice notes | Gap | 0.5 to 1 s |
| Testimonials or interviews | Gap | 1 to 2 s |
| Songs and music beds | Crossfade | 2 to 4 s |
Can I merge MP3 with WAV, M4A and video?
Yes. Every file can have its own format, sample rate and channel count. When joining, we unify them: the result uses the highest sample rate among the files, up to 48 kHz, and the others are converted to it. If any file is stereo, the result is stereo; if all of them are mono, it stays mono.
MP4, MOV and WebM videos go into the list too: we use only the soundtrack. That makes it easy to combine the audio of several phone videos without converting each one first. The total length shows under the list and updates right away when you change the gap or the crossfade.
| Output format | When to use it | Size per minute |
|---|---|---|
| MP3, 192 kbps | Listening, sharing, publishing | About 1.4 MB |
| WAV, 16-bit | Editing and mixing | About 11 MB (stereo) |
What if the files have different volumes?
We join the files as they are and do not change the volume of any of them. If one file was recorded quieter, it stays quieter inside the final file. To even everything out, run the result through the normalize audio tool, which sets the loudness of the whole file to a target.
Long files work as well, such as a two-hour service split into parts. We read and write in pieces, with the percentage and the time left, and you can cancel at any moment. After joining, play the result in the player before you download it.

Frequently asked questions
How do I combine two audio files into one?
Pick both files on this page, check the order in the list and click join audio. The result comes out as a single 192 kbps MP3 or a WAV. It is free, with no sign-up and no watermark.
How do I merge several WhatsApp voice notes?
Save each voice note to your phone or computer (they come as .opus or .ogg) and pick them all at once here. Drag to fix the order, add a short gap between them if you like and download as MP3.
How many files can I join?
Up to 50 files at once. You can pick several together or add them one by one. Long files work too: the bar shows the percentage and the time left.
Can I change the order of the files?
Yes. Drag a file by its handle in the list or use the up and down buttons, which work with the keyboard as well. To drop a file, click remove on its row.
How do I add a crossfade between songs?
Under between files, choose crossfade and type the seconds, from 0 to 5. One file fades out while the next fades in. The total length gets a little shorter, because the ends overlap.
Does merging audio lose quality?
Not in WAV: the result is written uncompressed, at 16-bit. In MP3, the audio is compressed at 192 kbps, a good rate for voice and music. Files with a lower sample rate are converted to the highest rate in the list, up to 48 kHz.
Will the volumes match?
We do not adjust the volume when joining. If one file is quieter than the rest, run the result through the normalize audio tool to bring everything to the same level.
