Plugin in DaVinci Resolve.
The FilmScribe Plugin opens inside DaVinci Resolve Studio, on a Mac, and brings what FilmScribe does to your timeline: clips as timelines, markers, a caption track, animated captions, templates and translations. It is in closed beta. These articles show how to install it, connect your account, send the timeline, use each module, update and undo, and what to do when something doesn't go as expected.

How to install the FilmScribe Plugin in DaVinci Resolve Studio
Quit DaVinci Resolve Studio, open the FilmScribe Plugin .pkg installer and allow it in System Settings, Privacy & Security, because during the closed beta the installer is not signed by Apple yet. Then open DaVinci again and choose Workspace, Workflow Integrations, FilmScribe.

How to connect the FilmScribe Plugin to your account
In the plugin, click Connect. It shows an eight-letter code and opens the approval page in your browser, where you are already signed in to FilmScribe. Check that the code matches and click Approve. A few seconds later the plugin opens its home page with the timeline open in DaVinci. You never type a password in the plugin.

How to send your DaVinci timeline to FilmScribe
With the timeline open in DaVinci, go to the plugin's home page and click Upload the audio. DaVinci renders just the timeline's audio and we upload it; the video stays on your computer. After that, each module brings to the timeline whatever you want. Sending uses your plan's hours, and the same timeline is never sent twice.

How to bring clips and markers into DaVinci
In Clips, check the clips and put them all in the Selection: one timeline cut from yours, with your own cameras, in the FilmScribe folder of the Media Pool. Or open a clip and build its own timeline step by step: the range, the format, the captions and the template. In Markers, bring chapters, emotions, moments, hooks and clips to your timeline, each type in its own color.

How to use animated captions and templates in DaVinci
In Captions, pick the style with the same styles and settings as the app and bring it to the timeline: the whole video's animated captions go on your timeline, on our own track above your edit, as video with a transparent background. On a clip, the captions and the template are steps of the clip itself, in Clips.

How to bring translated captions into DaVinci
In Translations, choose a language under Add language and click the button to translate the caption. When it's ready, click Add to DaVinci: we create a timeline with the caption in that language and your edit inside. For the transcript, summary and chapters, translating brings texts to read and copy in the plugin and in the app.

How to use the transcript, scripts and quick timeline in DaVinci
In Transcript, the line playing in DaVinci is highlighted and clicking a line moves the playhead there. Pick lines to mark a passage on your timeline or to build a quick timeline, with the passages in any order you like. In Script, ask for a script and bring its timeline, cut from yours.

How to update, undo and cancel in the plugin
When something changes, the plugin tells you: the pill at the top says how many changes there are or that the timeline changed, and each module shows if it is applied, outdated or not applied. Updating replaces only what that module brought. Removing a module undoes it, undoing everything undoes them all, and cancel stops a job halfway.

Common FilmScribe Plugin problems and how to fix them
The most common problems have a simple cause: DaVinci was open during the install, the plugin's code expired, the subscription is not up to date, the plugin's version fell behind or DaVinci didn't render the timeline's audio. Each step below shows the plugin's message and what to do.
