Getting started.
Everything starts with a video or audio file, or a YouTube link. These articles show how to upload, which formats and sizes are accepted, how to track processing, how to organize files in folders and what each file's overview shows.
-
How to upload a video or audio file
In Files, click Upload File and drag the file onto the page, or click to select it. Choose the content type, which is required, and click Start Processing when the upload finishes. You don't need to pick the language: the speech is recognized on its own.
-
How to import a YouTube video
In Upload File, open the YouTube tab and paste the video link into YouTube URL. Choose the content type and click Start Processing. It works with links to videos, Shorts and livestreams that have already ended. Use public videos and avoid age-restricted ones.
-
Which formats and sizes can I upload?
For audio, MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG and OPUS; for video, MP4, MOV, AVI and MKV; WEBM is accepted too. Each file can be up to 10 GB. We recommend MP3 for audio and MP4 for video: they give the best experience from upload to clip export.
-
How to upload several audio files at once
In Upload File, drag several audio files at once or select them all together. Choose whether you want one transcription per file or to join them into one transcription, in the order you choose. Click Continue, choose the content type of each one and start processing.
-
How to track a file's processing
After you start, the file's page shows the overall progress and each step, from the transcription to the clips. You can close the page: we send you an email when the file is ready. In the Files list, the status shows Processing and then Completed.
-
How to organize your files in folders
Open Folders in the menu and click New Folder. Give it a name and click Create Folder. To add a file, open the file's menu in Files and choose Move to folder. Deleting a folder doesn't delete the files: they stay in Files, outside any folder.

What the file Overview shows
Inside a file, Overview is the first page in the menu. It shows the file's numbers, such as the audio duration, the words transcribed and the speakers identified, what's ready to open and the summary, with the chapters and, for audio files, the synopsis. The buttons take you straight to the transcription, the clips and the chapters.
Your next story is already waiting.
Upload a file or paste a YouTube link and see the transcript, chapters and clips from your own recording.
