Transcribe audio and video to text. Every word timed, every line attributed.
Audio and video transcription turns everything said in a recording into text you can read, search and edit. Upload a file or paste a YouTube link and we transcribe it online, word by word, with timestamps and speakers separated, in 90+ languages. Then fix what needs fixing and export TXT, PDF or SRT.
Every word, timestamped.
You don't get loose thirty-second chunks. Every word carries the exact moment it was spoken, and every line shows where it starts. While the player runs, the word being spoken is highlighted. Click any sentence and the video jumps right to it. On a Sunday sermon, that means finding the moment the pastor read Romans 8:28 in seconds, instead of scrubbing back and forth through a ninety-minute service.
- Timestamps on every line and every word
- Click the text and the player jumps to that spot
- Language detected automatically, across 90+ languages
- Works with audio and video, from a file or a YouTube link
Transcription with speakers kept apart.
We separate lines by speaker automatically, on every plan. On a three-host podcast, each voice is labeled and you can filter the transcript to read only the guest. On Studio and Agency you can rename speakers and have us identify them: we read the transcript, find the moment each person introduces themselves or gets called by name, and show you that passage as proof. You review it and apply. In a wedding ceremony, “Person 1” becomes Officiant, Emily and Josh.
- Speakers separated on every plan
- Filter the transcript to one person's lines
- Rename speakers on Studio and Agency
- Automatic name identification, with the passage that backs it up (Studio and Agency)
Fix the transcript once. It's fixed everywhere.
A guest's last name, a product term, a book of the Bible: if something came out different from what was said, edit it right in the transcript. The fix carries over to the text on screen, the captions on your clips and every export. Search finds any word across the whole file, and favorite lines stay flagged for later. When the text leaves FilmScribe, pick the format that fits where it's going.
- Search any word or phrase across the file
- Favorite lines, folders and filters to stay organized
- SRT with TV, Netflix and YouTube presets and your choice of frame rate
- A cut timeline for Premiere, DaVinci and Final Cut on Studio and Agency
| Format | Use it for |
|---|---|
| TXT | Show notes, blog posts, study guides |
| Reviewing, printing or sending to a client | |
| SRT | Captions for YouTube, your site's player or your editor |
| FCPXML | Captions straight onto a Final Cut timeline |
| MP3 | Audio of the whole file or a single passage |

Frequently asked questions
In which languages does video transcription work?
90+ languages, with automatic detection, so you don't have to set the language before you upload. English, Spanish and Portuguese are the most common, but a French interview or an Italian podcast goes in the same way. On Studio and Agency the transcript can also be translated into 9 languages, keeping the original timestamps.
What should I look for in a transcription app?
It depends on what the text is for. If you make video, check four things: timing on every word, separated speakers, corrections that flow into your captions, and export to your editor. FilmScribe covers all four and takes audio files, video files and YouTube links, livestreams included. On the trial you see the result on your own recording before you decide.
Does online video transcription work with YouTube links and livestreams?
Yes. Paste the link to a video, Short, clip or livestream. Livestreams are processed once the replay is available on YouTube. You don't need to download anything first, and you can choose just the section you need so the rest of the video doesn't use up your hours. For Instagram or TikTok, download your own video and upload the file.
Does it identify different speakers?
Yes, on every plan. Each line shows who spoke and when, and you can filter the transcript by person. On Studio and Agency you can rename speakers and let us suggest their real names from what's said in the recording, with the passage that backs up each suggestion.
Can I edit the transcript?
Yes. Select the text and edit it. The change shows up in the transcript, in your clip captions and in every export, so a misspelled name only needs fixing once. If you change your mind, you can restore the original text.
Can I export the transcript to Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve?
Yes, two ways. SRT imports as captions in any editor, and there's an FCPXML file for Final Cut. On Studio and Agency you can also export a cut timeline built from the lines you picked: .xml for Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, .fcpxml for Final Cut Pro.
Is there a length limit for transcription?
No. A three-hour service or a long podcast goes in whole, without splitting the file. What limits you is your plan's monthly hours: 10 on Pro, 20 on Studio and 35 on Agency. Extra hours cost R$ 9, R$ 8 or R$ 7 depending on the plan.
How long does transcription take?
Minutes. You upload the file or paste the link, we detect the language, separate the speakers and timestamp every word, and the transcript is ready to read, play back and correct. The same transcript then powers chapters, emotions, captions and clips, with no second upload.
