Add a watermark to video your logo or your name, burned into the picture.
To add a watermark to a video, load the video and your logo as PNG, SVG or JPG, or type a line of text, pick the corner, size and opacity, and export the MP4. The mark is burned into the picture, so it shows in every player and platform, and the audio stays as it was.

How to add a watermark to a video
- 01
Load the video and the logo
The video as MP4, MOV or WebM. A logo works best as a PNG with a transparent background; SVG and JPG work too. Text only? Type your brand name or your handle.
- 02
Place it and adjust
Pick one of the nine spots on the grid or drag the mark on the preview. Set the size, the distance from the edge, the opacity and, if you want, when it shows.
- 03
Export and download the MP4
Follow the percentage and the time left. The video keeps its resolution, with the mark burned in and the audio copied from the original when it is already AAC.
How do I put a logo on a video without a white box?
It comes down to the file format. PNG and SVG keep transparency: only the drawing of the logo goes onto the video, and the picture shows around it. JPG has no transparency, so the logo always lands as a rectangle with whatever background is in the file. If all you have is a JPG, ask whoever designed the brand for the PNG version, or use the logo on a band that matches its background.
Size matters too. The logo width is a percentage of the video width, so the mark keeps the same proportion in 720p, 1080p or 4K. To stay sharp, the file needs to be at least as wide as it will appear: on a 1080p video with the logo at 15%, that is about 290 pixels. SVG has no such limit, because it is drawn at the right size.
- Transparent PNG: the safest format for a logo.
- SVG: sharp at any size.
- JPG: always lands with its rectangular background.
- Animated GIF: goes in as a still, without the animation.
Where should a watermark go on a video?
On horizontal video, the top or bottom right corners are the usual choice: the mark stays out of the middle of the shot and the eye finds it quickly. On a recorded church service or event, the top corner is usually better, because subtitles and speaker names tend to sit at the bottom.
On vertical video, watch the bottom and the right edge: Reels, TikTok and Shorts cover those areas with the description and the buttons. Use the top spots, or drag the mark to the height you like. The distance from the edge applies to all nine grid spots and scales with the video.
| Where the video goes | Best spot | Why |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube and big screens | A right-hand corner | Out of the middle of the shot |
| Reels, TikTok and Shorts | Top | Buttons sit at the bottom and right |
| Recorded services and events | Top corner | Subtitles and names sit at the bottom |
| Client preview | Center, low opacity | Hard to crop out |
What opacity should a video watermark have?
It depends on the job. As a signature, so viewers know whose content it is, 70% to 100% in a corner works well. For a subtle mark that does not fight the picture, stay between 40% and 60%. To send a client a preview before payment, use a large logo in the center at 25% to 40%: it gets in the way of anyone using the video without paying, but still lets the work be judged.
The mark can also show only for part of the video. Turn on showing it during part of the video and set when it appears and when it leaves, for example during the first five seconds or during a sponsor segment. The Current time button takes the point where the preview is paused.
Can you remove a watermark from a video?
We do not do that. This tool puts your mark on your video; removing the watermark from someone else's video usually infringes the rights of whoever made it, which is exactly what the mark is there to prevent. Besides, a burned-in mark is part of the picture: any removal means inventing the pixels that were underneath.
If the video is yours and you need a version without the mark, use the original file. That is why it pays to always keep the unmarked video: with it, you can export as many versions as you like, with another logo, another position or another opacity.

Frequently asked questions
How do I add a watermark to a video for free?
Load the video, load a logo or type some text, pick the position and click Add the watermark. The MP4 comes out with no sign-up, no usage limit and no mark of ours.
What is the best logo format for a watermark?
PNG with a transparent background, or SVG. Both put only the drawing on the video. JPG works, but lands as a rectangle with the file's background.
Can I use a logo and text together?
Yes. The logo sits on the left and the text on the right, centered on the same line, and they move together. The text can have an outline so it reads on bright or dark footage.
Can the watermark show for only part of the video?
Yes. Turn on Show only during part of the video and set when the mark appears and when it leaves. Outside that stretch, the picture is exactly as in the original.
Does a watermark reduce video quality?
To burn the mark in, the picture is encoded again as high-quality H.264, at the same resolution and with the same timing for every frame. The audio is copied unchanged when it is already AAC; otherwise it becomes AAC.
Do you remove watermarks from videos?
No. The tool is for putting your own mark on your own content. Removing the mark from someone else's video usually infringes the rights of whoever made it.
Does it work with vertical phone videos?
Yes. The video comes out upright, as it plays on the phone, and the mark follows the vertical frame. Prefer the top spots, away from the Reels, TikTok and Shorts buttons.
