How to add a logo, text and backgrounds to a clip

Updated

Short answer

In the Download clip window, use the right menu. Text adds text over the clip. Hooks brings ready-made backgrounds and text hooks. Media adds your logo or another image, uploaded once and kept in your library. Drag to position each element and set when it shows up.

Available on Pro, Studio and Agency (every plan)

Step by step

  1. Step 1: Add text

In the Download clip window, open Text in the right menu and click Add text. Drag the text in the preview to position it, resize it and set when it shows up.

  2. Step 2: Use backgrounds and text hooks

Open Hooks. In Text hooks, choose a ready-made hook; further down, choose the background's shape in Shape and its color in Backgrounds. They're good for filling the split screen or grabbing attention at the start.

Frequently asked questions

What kind of image can I upload?

PNG, JPEG, WebP, AVIF or SVG, up to 8MB, still images only.

Can the captions sit behind the logo?

No. The captions always stay above every element, so they never disappear.

Do I need to upload the logo for every clip?

No. The uploaded image stays in your library and shows up in the Media panel of future clips.

What's the difference between the Hooks panel and the Hooks page?

The Hooks panel of the Download clip window has backgrounds and text hooks to put on the video. They're different from the narrative hooks of an audio file.
