When you upload, you tell us the content type, and we tune the chapters, moments, emotions and what counts as a strong moment. The content type is the category you choose when you upload, from 20 options plus Custom, and it guides everything we do after the transcript. A powerful line in a Sunday service sounds nothing like a powerful line in a board meeting. That's why content type is the first question when you upload. It changes the emotions we mark on each line: at a wedding, love, gratitude and nostalgia; in a sermon, faith, hope and reverence; in a meeting, trust, confusion and frustration. It changes what we look for as a strong moment: the central truth and the altar call in a sermon, humor and candid confessions in a podcast, personal revelations in an interview. And it changes the names of the moments inside each chapter, which on Studio and Agency show up the way people in that world actually talk. Next to the type, a text field takes what only you know: “focus on the parents' toast”, “highlight Sarah's testimony”.

Sermons, church services, Bible studies and devotionals
Church services are among the most common recordings on FilmScribe, and they have habits of their own. They run two, sometimes three hours. There's worship at the start and in the middle, announcements, the offering, the Scripture reading, the sermon and the altar call. The pastor quotes verses, walks the stage and changes tone. Chapters split every part of the service, the transcript keeps Bible references as they were spoken, and clips go after lines that stand on their own in Reels and Shorts. A Bible study gets chapters by passage and the group's questions; a devotional becomes text for your website and audio for the church podcast; a faith testimony gets its turning point in the spotlight.

In conversations, like podcasts, interviews, testimonials, mentoring, meetings and support calls, what matters is who's talking: we separate the speakers and, on Studio and Agency, you give each one a name. At events, like weddings, corporate events, ceremonies and parties, what matters is the moment: vows, toasts, speeches and tributes become chapters and passages that are easy to find. In teaching, like classes, training, workshops, narration and audiobooks, what matters is structure: concepts, examples and plot turns organized into chapters, with a mind map on Studio and Agency. Frequently asked questions
What kinds of recordings can you transcribe?
Any recording with speech: church services, podcasts, weddings, talks, interviews, testimonials, classes, meetings, mentoring, narration and more. We take audio and video in MP3, WAV, M4A, MP4, MOV, MKV and other formats, any length, or a YouTube link, livestreams included. If yours isn't on the list, choose Custom and describe what you're after.
Does it handle background music?
Yes. Church services and weddings almost always have music, and that's everyday work for FilmScribe. Sounds like music, laughter and applause can show up marked in the transcript, and you can hide them in your captions. On Studio and Agency, worship usually gets its own moment inside the chapter, easy to skip or to find.
What about many people talking at once?
We separate speakers on every plan, so a four-person podcast or a panel comes out with every line attributed. On Studio and Agency, you can rename speakers and ask us to identify each one by name. For stretches where everyone talks over each other, a quick review of the text is worth it.
What changes when I choose a content type?
The emotions we mark on each line, the standard for strong moments and the names of the moments inside chapters. A wedding gets Vows and Ring exchange; a sermon gets Worship and Altar call; a talk gets Audience Q&A. The transcript itself stays the same: word by word, with timestamps and speakers.
What if my recording doesn't fit any type?
Choose Custom. It uses a broad set of emotions and treats your footage without assumptions. Use the instructions field to say what matters, like “only the parts about money” or “focus on the director's remarks”, and we take it into account in the chapters, hooks and clips.
