You don't pick a language when you upload. We figure out what language the recording is in and transcribe it with a timestamp on every word and each speaker separated, the same way we do in English. That covers the bilingual service your church streams in Houston, the interview with a guest from Mexico City and the Portuguese podcast a client sent over. Everything built on the transcript works in any language: chapters, the emotion of each line, scored hooks and clips. Chapter titles and summaries come out in your app language, while quoted lines stay in the original. So an editor in Chicago reads the chapters of an interview recorded in Spanish in English, without losing the exact line that goes into the clip.

Transcribe in one language, translate into another
Transcription is step one; often the content needs to reach people in another language. Once the transcript is ready, you translate it into 9 languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Japanese, Korean and Simplified Chinese. Translation covers the transcript, chapters, hooks and captions. Translated captions can be burned into a clip with the same style and timing as the original, or exported as SRT to upload to YouTube or open in your editor. That's how a sermon in English gets Spanish captions for the church's Spanish-language service, and a keynote from Brazil reaches an English-speaking audience. Names, terms and accents: you get the final say
Regional accents, people's names and niche terms show up in every sermon, podcast and interview, in any language. That's why the transcript is editable: if a name comes out wrong, you fix it in the text and the fix carries over to the clip's captions. On Studio and Agency, you can rename speakers and ask us to identify each speaker by name, which also works on recordings in other languages. FilmScribe speaks your language too: the app is available in English, Spanish and Portuguese, and you switch the interface language in your profile. A team in Texas and an editor in Colombia can share one account, each working in their own language.

Which languages can you transcribe?

Can I transcribe Spanish or Portuguese audio?
Yes, and you don't have to set anything. Upload the file and we transcribe it in the language it was spoken. On Studio and Agency, you can then translate the transcript, chapters, hooks and captions into English or any of our 9 languages, and burn the translated captions into a clip or download them as SRT.
Does it handle mixed languages and accents?
Accents are everyday life in sermons, podcasts and interviews, and our transcription is built to handle them. When someone drops a short phrase in another language, it usually shows up in the language it was spoken. If a name or term comes out wrong, fix it in the text and the fix carries over to the clip's captions.
Is the language detected automatically?
Yes. When you upload, you only pick the content type, like sermon, podcast or interview. We identify the language from the recording itself, so there's no chance of a Spanish recording being transcribed as English because of a forgotten setting.

Does transcribing another language cost more?
No. Transcribing English, Spanish or any other language uses the same monthly hours as everything else, with no per-language fee. Pro is R$ 59 a month with 10 hours, Studio is R$ 89 with 20 hours and Agency is R$ 149 with 35 hours. Translation into other languages comes with Studio and Agency.
What languages is the app in?
English, Spanish or Portuguese, your choice. You can switch the interface language in your profile at any time without affecting the language of your files. A church media team in Texas and a volunteer editor in Guatemala can share one account, each in the language they work best in.
