How to download SRT captions

Updated

Short answer

On the Transcription page, click Download and then Download as complete .SRT. In the window, choose the split mode, a TV, Netflix or YouTube preset, the maximum lines per caption and the frames per second. The preview shows the result; then just download it and take it to your editor or platform.

Frequently asked questions

Which preset should I choose?

Use the preset of the platform the captions are going to: TV, Netflix or YouTube. Each one sets how many characters fit per line. Custom lets you choose.

Do my transcript fixes carry over to the SRT?

Yes. Text fixes apply to the exports.

What's the difference between the SRT and the clip captions?

The SRT is a caption file separate from the video, for any editor or platform. The clip captions are burned into the video itself, with an animated style.
