How to create a script from the transcript

Updated

Short answer

Open Script in the file's menu and click New script. Choose the delivery, full film or teaser, the duration and, if you like, a style, outside context and scenes. Then click See the possibilities to compare paths before writing, or Write directly. Each passage of the script points to the exact line in the transcript.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between See the possibilities and Write directly?

See the possibilities shows two or three paths and only writes the script after you pick one; the paths stay saved so you can write another later. Write directly picks the path the material supports best and writes it in one go.

Does the script make up lines?

No. Each passage of the script points to the exact line in the transcript. If the material doesn't reach the requested length, nothing is made up to fill it.

Can I take the script into my editor?

Yes. The finished script has the Download menu, with the passages' audio, TXT, PDF, SRT and the export to editor.
