FilmScribe in ChatGPT your recordings inside the chat, with every timestamp.

The FilmScribe connector links your account to ChatGPT over MCP. In the chat, ChatGPT reads what we already prepared, like transcripts, chapters, hooks and clips, and hands back download links and timelines for your editor. By default access is read-only. If you allow it when connecting, it also organizes, creates and imports from YouTube. It comes with Studio and Agency, trials of those plans included.

What you ask ChatGPT

Answers with timestamps, links and timelines

Lookups don't use your plan's hours. Download links work for up to 24 hours. Anything that changes your account only happens if you ticked the permission when connecting.

ChatGPT only sees and does what you approved

A connection only exists once you approve it on a FilmScribe screen that shows the assistant's name. Deleting and spending hours always wait for your yes. ChatGPT never touches your subscription, payments or account details.

We don't store your chats. We log which assistant connected, what it looked up or changed and when, and you see all of it under Profile > Connections, where you can also revoke access.

Frequently asked questions

Can ChatGPT watch or transcribe my videos?

With the connector, it doesn't have to. ChatGPT reads what we already prepared from your audio or video: the word-level transcript with speakers, chapters, emotions and clips. That's how it can answer questions about a two-hour sermon and quote the exact timestamp of every line, without you pasting anything into the chat.

Why not just paste the transcript into the chat?

With a long recording, pasting the text is tedious and the timestamps tend to get lost on the way. With the connector, ChatGPT opens the file you ask for, uses the same filters as the app, like favorites, a range between two timestamps, an emotion or a speaker, and also hands you links and timelines, which pasted text can't do.

Which ChatGPT plans support the connector?

ChatGPT allows custom connectors through developer mode, currently on Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu, and those rules change often. On our side, the connector is part of Studio and Agency, trials of those plans included.

Can ChatGPT delete or change anything in my account?

Only if you allow it. By default access is read-only. If you tick “Also allow creating, editing and deleting” when connecting, it does what you ask within your plan's limits, and deleting always waits for your yes. To take the permission away, revoke the connection and connect again without ticking the option.

Does the connector work in Codex?

Yes. In the terminal, run codex mcp add filmscribe --url followed by the connector address, and log in when asked. The same setup works in the Codex extension for your editor. Step-by-step setup is under Profile > Connections.

How do I disconnect ChatGPT?

Under Profile > Connections, revoke the connection whenever you want. It also ends on its own after 45 days without use, or when you change your password or email. To come back, connect again.

Ask ChatGPT about your latest recording. With the timestamp of every line.
