FilmScribe in Claude a custom connector for your recordings.

FilmScribe joins your Claude connectors as a custom connector (MCP). In the chat, Claude reads the transcripts with speakers, chapters, hooks, scripts and clips we prepared, and hands back download links and timelines for your editor. If you allow it when connecting, it also organizes, translates and writes scripts. It works in Claude and Claude Code, on Studio and Agency, trials of those plans included.

What you ask Claude

Long reads, answers with exact timestamps

Claude reads file by file and uses the app's filters. Lookups don't use your plan's hours, and anything that changes your account only happens with the permission ticked when connecting.

Claude only sees and does what you approved

You approve on a FilmScribe screen that shows the assistant's name. By default, Claude only reads. Deleting and spending hours always wait for your yes, in a window of the app itself when it offers one.

We don't store your chats: we log which assistant connected, what it looked up or changed and when. Under Profile > Connections you see everything and revoke access.

Frequently asked questions

What are Claude connectors?

They're how Claude plugs into outside services. A custom connector uses the MCP standard: you paste the service's address, sign in to your account and approve. With FilmScribe connected, Claude looks up your recordings when you ask and, if you allow it, makes changes for you.

Which Claude plans let me add the connector?

That's up to Claude: each plan has its own rules for custom connectors, and they change often. Check Customize > Connectors to see if the option is there. On Team and Enterprise, the organization owner adds it. On our side, the connector is part of Studio and Agency, trials of those plans included.

Does it work in Claude Code?

Yes. In the terminal, run claude mcp add --transport http --scope user filmscribe followed by the connector address. Then open Claude Code, run /mcp, pick filmscribe and log in. It's handy for turning transcripts into files in your project, like posts or pages.

Can Claude read a two-hour recording?

Yes, because it doesn't need to listen to anything: it reads the transcript we already prepared, with the timing of every word. It can also ask for just a range between two timestamps, only favorites, one emotion or one speaker, which keeps answers precise on long footage.

Can Claude use my plan's hours?

Only if you allow changes, and only when you ask for something we transcribe, like importing a YouTube video or reprocessing a file that failed. First it shows how many hours it uses, and nothing runs without your yes. Creating chapters, hooks, scripts or a clip's video doesn't use hours.

What happens to my data in the chat?

We don't store your chats. What Claude looks up is sent to it during the conversation and follows the terms of the company behind Claude. On our side, we only log which assistant connected, what was looked up or changed and when, never the content.

Add FilmScribe to your connectors. And talk to your recordings.

Upload your footage, let us transcribe it and connect Claude under Profile > Connections.
