Frequently asked questions

Which format do I use for Reels, TikTok and Shorts?

9:16, vertical. FilmScribe shows each format's output right below the buttons, and in 9:16 the camera follows whoever is speaking.

Why are the Font, Effects and Translation tabs locked?

They unlock when you choose a style in Styles. Without a style, the clip comes out without captions.

Is there a clip length limit?

On Pro, each clip goes up to 15 minutes. On Studio and Agency there's no such limit, but a clip with captions can be up to 25 minutes.

Does downloading a clip use plan hours?

No. Plan hours count the length of the material you upload for processing. Downloading clips doesn't use hours.

What resolution does the clip have?

A video you uploaded comes out at its own resolution on any plan. For a video imported from YouTube, the maximum is 1440p on Pro and 4K on Studio and Agency.
